Scottish Enterprise e-Commerce Report 2012: Comments Welcome

e-commerceA month or so ago, Scottish Enterprise published what was described as a ‘landmark’ Report on the state of e-commerce in Scotland. Following publication of the Report, a very interesting debate has started to emerge on the Energise 2-0 blog.

Given the importance of ‘digital’ to the future competitiveness of the Scottish economy, we would welcome your contribution to this debate.

How important is e-commerce to the future of the Scottish economy? Is it the single biggest challenge facing Scottish business today, as claimed in press coverage of the Report?  SE have already stated that the Report will have a major impact on future digital policy, with a much greater focus on ‘international e-commerce awareness, advice and support’. Is this the best use of public sector ‘digital’ support or are there other more important areas?

Kube Network’s view is that e-commerce is clearly important to the future of the Scottish economy. However, there are other aspects of ‘digital Scotland’ of equal if not more importance – connectivity, the Cloud, mobile, social media etc.  It would be wrong to concentrate public sector support on just one area.

We welcome your comments either below or by joining the existing conversation on the Energise 2-0 site.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Take care.

Would you say that the mobile phone is one of the best and most affective ways in which to progress with network marketing but one that not many people are using?
